To his parents, Stephen was a disappointment, preferring conservation work to banking and a career in the city.
To Helen, he might not have been the brightest of her students, but he was the most passionate. And not just in the lecture theatre.
To Nick, he was a colleague first, then a friend.
To Connor, Stephen was the elder brother he’d always wanted.
To Abby, he was yet another person who had let her down.
To Ryan, he was someone who could keep his head under pressure. They became friends first, lovers second.
