“Point those guns somewhere else or I’ll stick ‘em up your arses!”
Danny pushed past Becker’s security team, planting himself between them and their quarry.
The creature cowered behind bins in an alleyway, arms wrapped around a skinny body covered with russet-coloured hair.
Danny approached slowly and smiled as recognition dawned in its dark eyes. It tentatively reached out to him.
“Don’t worry, mate,” Danny said quietly. “I won’t let anyone hurt you. We’ll get you home. It might take a while, like it did for me. But we’ll get you back, I promise.”
They hugged, like old friends do.
