Ryan toed off his muddy boots onto the locker room floor. The rest of his filthy, soaking clothes followed.

Stephen Hart came in and followed suit. Cutter and Connor were no doubt giving the place a wide berth until the soldiers had finished in there, but Hart was made of sterner stuff.

Ryan liked the guy. He was competent in the field. Shit-hot with a rifle and hot in other ways, too.

“Fancy a curry later?” Ryan asked, when they were both clean. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Stephen grinned. “Sounds good to me, mate.”

Ryan couldn’t quite believe his luck
