Danny had never believed it was possible to hate an inanimate object. But now he knew better.
He wasn’t even sure why he continued to return. Patrick wasn’t here. Danny didn’t even expect to find him here any more.
Despite that, he still came back once a year on the anniversary of his younger brother’s disappearance.
The house looked more dilapidated every year. Much like he felt.
It had taken the place of a grave, had become somewhere Danny could just sit and remember his brother.
What he never expected to see here was people.
But this year was different.
