When the man leered at Lorraine, Blade ignored him. Lorraine had firm views on fighting her own battles, but when the loud-mouthed bully deliberately trod on the tail of an elderly spaniel, Lorraine relented and nodded.
Blade sauntered over to the man as he postured in front of the dartboard with his cronies. “Fancy a game, mate?”
“A hundred quid to make it interesting?” The man winked at his friends.
Blade shrugged. “Sure.”
His first three darts all hit the bullseye.
So did his next three.
And the next.
Blade dropped his winnings into the charity box on the bar.
