Abby dropped her bloodstained clothes into a bag.

She’d seen the dracorex settled into a pen in their animal containment facility and stayed with it until the sedative had worn off. She was sure it now had a fighting chance of survival.

The hot water in the showers finally managed to drive the cold out of her body.

Standing up to Becker and the knight had been hard, but she would not see an injured animal killed through fear and prejudice on her watch.

She just wished she could deal quite so easily with the other men in her life.
