I'm pimping out the

tolkien100 drabble community, which I now co-mod with

liadtbunny!

The short version of the story behind this is that the previous owner was decamping to Dreamwidth and was intending to delete the comm is no one came forward. As Tolkien was my first fandom from the age of eight when I write my first fanfic (about Faramir!), losing the archive on the site seemed such a shame, so we came forward.

We're hoping to revive the comm, which has been mostly dormant for a few years, hence the pimpage! Our aim is to run fortnightly challenges, for which people can post at any time. I hope I'll even be able to write for some, and am planning a Tolkien binge fest on the books pretty soon.

If you think you might have any Tolkien fans on your f-lists, we'd be very grateful for any signal boosts we can get! Please feel free to use

It's a long time since I've written any as well! My only ones since I was in my teens have been one I write for a fandom sticking a few years ago (Bilbo/Thorin) which still gets a steady stream of kudos on AO3.

We're not sure how much of a fandom is on LJ now, but the fandom newsletter here is busy, so maybe we'll get some takers.

I'm more of an elf/elf shipper, but I don't mind gen hobbits or dwarfs.

I wrote it for a friend, so I just went with what she wanted. I don't really have many actual ships in LotR or the Hobbit, and the ones I do have are not likely to be mainstream!

Looks nice a nice comm! I like the 'post any drabble any time' thing :D
Not sure if I'll be any more successful at posting Tolkein drabbles as I will Primeval ones, but I'll keep half an eye on it anyway :)
