“Where’s Claudia?” Nick stared around trying to pick out the one face he desperately wanted to see.

“Claudia?” Lester was as supercilious as ever, but he seemed genuinely puzzled, which was starting to scare Nick.

“Where’s Claudia Brown?”

“I don’t know anyone of that name.”

Nick heard similar words from everyone around him as his disbelief and frustration mounted.

They were all staring at him like he was mad. Like they’d never heard of Claudia Brown despite spending months working with her.

What the hell was wrong with them all? Some sort of stupid fucking practical joke?

Or collective amnesia…

Yes, and poor Nick still reeling from Ryan's death.

It was never clear in the s2 timeline whether Ryan had even existed.

No, indeed. My feeling is that he didn't, which, in some ways, is kinder, except for Nick! My 'Big' Bang focuses on this, and I really must get on with the damn thing!
