The young tyrannosaur let out a high-pitched cry as Abby gently irrigated the raw burn on its back with cold water.

Tears ran down her face as she worked. So many dead as fire rained from the sky beyond the anomaly, and sometimes even through it.

While firefighters worked to bring a serious blaze under control only half a mile away, Abby’s job was to triage the creatures and move them from the danger zone as fast as possible.

She just was waiting for transport for her latest patient.

She couldn’t save them all, but she could save this one.
