Des Vickers, the landlord of the Black Swan, glanced at the clock on the wall of the bar.
It had been a busy night; some of his customers had been more rowdy than usual, and he’d be glad to call time on the lot of the little fuckers tonight.
At one minute past last orders time, he was about to yell loudly that it was a pub not a fucking doss-house when the lads - and lasses - from over the road skidded in, filthy and thirsty, as ever.
“Just in time, ladies and gents,” he said, with a grin.
