“He’s such an inspiration.” There was just the faintest trace of sarcasm in Jess’s voice, so faint that even Becker wasn’t sure he’d caught it.
“No, he’s not, he’s a fucking wanker.” Playing safe had never been his forte. Not in private, not after the day he’d had.
“He’s a scheming, lying poser.”
Becker relaxed. “Connor’s obsessed with him.”
“Connor needs to start concentrating on Abby.”
He grinned. When Jess dropped the little girl act, she was hot.
“And you can cut that out, Captain.”
She was even hotter like that, but he knew when not to push his luck.
