The sceptical look on the medic’s face told Ryan that he looked just as exhausted and battered as he felt. “For a given definition of fine, Ryan. It’s just not the same definition most of our service users apply to themselves.”
“Service users?”
“Someone in senior management prefers it to patients. I give it until next Tuesday before you’re all patients again.”
“Sorry for clogging up a bed.”
She rolled her eyes. “If you can hunt dinosaurs, the least we can do is patch you up afterwards.”
“That’s secret.”
“Yes, of course it is, Captain.”
