“You’re on site in three minutes,” Jess warned, talking over their headsets as the black Range Rovers hurtled towards the latest anomaly.
“Thanks, Jess,” Matt said.
“And Matt, don’t forget to smile for the cameras!”
“He’s not due to smile for another month,” Becker commented.
“It’s compulsory today. That annoying woman on the anomaly forum who claims to be his girlfriend says he’ll be smiling for her on the next shout, not this one.”
Matt groaned. “Jess, don’t play with the idiots…”
He was starting to think that getting blown up during Convergence might have been a simpler life choice.
