“Couldn’t the budget run to more than a 40 watt lightbulb?” Lester asked, stalking into their new underground facility wearing a sharp suit and a disdainful sneer.
“You’re not impressed, James?”
“I prefer to be able to see the papers on my desk, Philip. Never mind, I’m sure petty cash can afford an Ikea desk lamp.”
“How’s the recruitment going? I can let you have staff from Prospero on secondment…”
“That won’t be necessary. Ms Parker arrives tomorrow to set up the IT systems and Captain Becker returns next week.” Lester smiled wolfishly. “Goodbye, Philip. Don’t let me detain you.”
