"Knock knock…” Stephen leaned back against the tree and tried to ignore the three million insects currently feasting on him.
“Who’s there?” Ryan asked, helpfully.
“Amos.”
“Amos who?”
“A mosquito.”
“Knock knock…”
“Who’s there?”
“Anothermos?”
“Anothermos who?”
“Another mosquito.”
By the time they’d reached ‘afiftythirdmos’, Stephen was seriously considering jumping off the cliff.
“Connor, when is this fucking thing going to fade?” Nick yelled, slapping at yet another biting insect.
Connor stared at the box of tricks in his hand. “”How does next Tuesday sound?”
“Like a really, really bad response,” Stephen commented.
“Ten minutes’ time.”
“Thank fuck for that.”
