Dior stared down at the body of his grandfather.
Thingol’s wounds had been cleaned and dressed, but nothing could disguise the ruin of his once-beautiful face; a face that had shone with the starlight of Cuiviénen.
His skin, cold and pale, marred by myriad axe blows and spear thrusts.
His heart ripped from his chest.
Dior’s own heart ached with grief and his blood ran hot with the lust for revenge.
He would ride north seeking his grandfather’s murderers.
He swore on Aranrúth, the king’s sword, that he would not rest until each and every one of them was dead.
