“Hold together!” Faramir’s voice cut through the hubbub of battle; calm, measured, in control.

The captain wheeled his horse, riding along their ragged column, ensuring no stragglers were left behind.

He encouraged the weary, restrained the reckless, and held them all together.

Faramir’s sword, red with blood and dripping gore, flashed in the light of countless bonfires.

Damrod was limping heavily, an arrow buried deep in his thigh. He’d snapped off the shaft but there was no time for more.

He fought on and he would fight to the end of the world, should his lord ask that of him.
