Jess turned over, wrapping the duvet around her like a cocoon.

Nothing short of a herd of T. rexes rampaging through Pall Mall would get her out of bed today.

“Knock, knock.” Becker tapped her gently on the shoulder. “Delivery of one hotty botty and two paracetamols for Ms J Parker.”

Jess struggled partially upright and settled the cashmere covered hot water bottle on her cramping stomach.

“Tell Lester I’m taking a personal day.”

“If he asks for more detail?”

“Tell him I’m flooding. He’s got two teenage daughters. He’ll understand.”

Becker blushed.

Lester didn’t.

But he did send chocolates.

Poor Jess. Although lucky Jess as well as she has Becker and Lester both being supportive. But ugh, periods.

I had this idea in my head of Lester being less fazed by this than Becker, who would be supportive, but vaguely embarrassed.
