Nick looked interested. “Go on.”
“A door knocker means that there was a door.”
Stephen grinned. “A door means there was a dwelling.”
“And it means that people didn’t just barge in. Unlike you, Conn,” Abby added.
“Which implies the sort of civilised behaviour not found in the average student flat.” Nick nodded. “This could work.”
Ryan plonked a tray of drinks down on the table. “Remind me again why we want to wind Lester up?”
“He was rude to Claudia!”
“Count me in.”
