The bastard love child of Abby’s hairdryer and a toy truck trundled towards the anomaly, a camera mounted on the front secured by duct tape and cable ties.

Abby had given up buying hairdryers.
Then it was through, and the camera started transmitting pictures to Connor’s laptop.
“Sand!” he declared, then, “We’ve got a problem, guys… there are people through there.”
Cutter peered closely at the screen. People in modern dress.
A wide beach. Donkeys. Sandcastles.
A distinctive metal tower standing tall and proud in the background.
“Get it back, Conn,” Stephen instructed.
“Paris?”
“Blackpool.”
