“No need to stand on ceremony,” Ryan said, waving the young captain to a chair in front of his desk. “Welcome to the madhouse.”
“Thanks, sir,” Becker acknowledged, hastily adding, “I think.”
“Just Ryan is fine now,” the ARC’s civilian Head of Security told him. “Who did you piss off to get landed with dino-hunting duty?”
“My father.”
Ryan shot him a sympathetic look. “It’s not as bad as everyone makes out. The lads are a strong team. The scientists are mostly sane; on a good day, anyway.”
“And on a bad day?”
“Mad as a box of fucking frogs.”
