“Behave yourselves, menaces!” Lester ordered as two excited diictodons wriggled around his ankles like demented puppies.
“They missed you!” Connor called from the living room.
Lester tossed them the ridiculous teddy bear wearing a union jack teeshirt he’d bought from a souvenir stall by the river. “Chew that instead of my slippers.”
Green flying lizards were somewhat harder to buy presents for, but as Lester busied himself in the kitchen, he carefully chopped an assortment of fruit and vegetables into Rex’s bowl.
The lizard wasn’t exactly demonstrative, but Lester knew he missed Abby just as much as they all did.
