“Trouble is, the bloody things have got no natural predators,” Bill Steadman grumbled, staring at the ruin of his vegetable patch.
“Cars take down a few of the buggers. Wrote off our Angie’s little Fiesta last week, one of ‘em did,” Frank Finch commented.
“Could do with some o’ them dinosaurs again,” Bill said. “They’d sort the sods out.”
“Might get the veggie ones. They’re as bad as the bloody boars.”
“Yeah, but that government lassie would pay us to keep out traps shut again.”
The rest of the allotment holders nodded.
They all liked the lass from the ministry.
