The look of frozen horror on Christine Johnson’s face would have made Becker a fortune if he’d been able to sell copies.
He knew perfectly well that Joe Wilder and his lads weren’t fans of hers, nor were his own team.
Her reputation preceded her, and followed her, like a bad smell.
A very bad smell.
Fortunately, she had zero tact and, like most power mad idiots, possessed an unfortunate (for her) tendency to let her mouth run away with her, especially when belittling others.
Never wise.
Becker smiled blandly and murmured, “Oops!”
Wilder just managed to hide a grin.
