The sign on the entrance was hard to read in the dark but Abby could just make out the word Otters.
That was a good start; she liked otters.
She was less keen on the stuffed moose’s head on the wall staring glumly down at the wood panelled reception.
A harried-looking waiter bustled out of the dining room.
“Claudia Brown, Home Office.” Claudia smiled. “Thank you for putting us up.”
A small furry animal scuttled across the floor.
“Eees Himalayan hamster,” the waiter said brightly.
“Eees rat,” Ryan muttered.
Claudia sighed. It was going to be one of those nights.
