“The sky wasn’t that colour when we left,” Connor declared, staring up at a shimmering blue-green haze almost overshadowing myriad bright stars set in a midnight blue velvet sky.
“And there wasn’t a fucking great big waterfall in the middle of the Thames.” Ryan commented, rifle at the ready.
“Wrong anomaly,” Cutter said trying to project a confidence he clearly didn’t feel.
“Right anomaly, wrong time.” Stephen pointed to a distinctive dark shape rearing up against the sky.
The dome of St Paul’s Cathedral, water swirling around the ruins of a once proud edifice.
Behind them, the anomaly snapped shut.
