“You do not have to say anything. But, it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.”
The young copper delivered the standard caution with all the enthusiasm of a man who would rather poke his eyes out with a pencil than say it again.
“Can’t you just tell me I’m nicked’?” the teenager muttered sulkily.
“No.”
“’ave it your own way, mate. Dinosaurs. Fucking great big dinosaurs did it, not me.”
The copper sighed. He hated cocky bloody teenagers.
