Sir James Lester kissed much the same way as he did everything else. Neatly, carefully, even somewhat dryly.

Lieutenant Jon Lyle, by contrast, was all lazy enthusiasm, with a tongue which probed and teased as much as his gun-calloused hands.

Lester tilted his head back, allowing Lyle to explore his mouth with the same single minded determination that the soldier used in pursuit of new cave passage. He had been away a month, on a op that had gone beyond even Lester’s security clearance.

Lyle was home again and tongue, lips and even teeth said more than words ever could.

Yep, he doesn't have sole use of the SF guys, and I liked the idea of him being the one sitting at home and waiting, and worrying.

Aww, bless da'boys! So cute! Although now I'm wondering just how much of a mess Lester is? After all we know he fell apart when Lyle was missing for ten days, a month where he isn't missing, but is away on an unknown operation (of presumable high levels of danger!)... *cuddles Lester*

Incidentally can I congratulate you on the most popular bunch of OC's ever created? I was wandering around the general primeval LJ communities and I make it about five other authors using Lyle (in particular) and the rest of the SF teams in their fic. I don't think I've ever seen an OC adopted by other fans to the extent Lyle has been - and the credit for that is all yours!

And I freely admit, onscreen Stephen was my favourite character *pouts* and I figured that would stay the same in fiction, but then I encountered fanfic-Lester and then the onscreen Lester got incredibly cool... And now I'm a Lester groupie and have been seduced by the charming snark between him and Lyle. A terrible fate... how ever shall I cope?

Aw, thanks :) *blushes* I always love it when he appears in other people's stuff, same for the others. He certainly was never intended to have such a big role when he first appeared, then he rather took on a life of his own.

And yes, I adore Lester, too. I hope we see a lot more of him in S3.

I´d like to congratulate fredbasset too, your characters really are now part of the show (at least for fanfic readers ^_^).

I started watching Primeval not too much ago and when I checked on it in the web I found so many fics about Lyle that I thought he was a new character in season 2. After I saw the second season I was a bit confused because there wasn´t any character with that name...

I thought I have read most of the fics about Lyle/Lester, but I must have missed an important one because I don´t remember that plot. Can somebody, pleeease, tell me which fic is that and where to find it? I´m a craving Lester/Lyle fangirl (and a Lester groupie too ^_^)

The story being mentioned here was the series Falls the Shadow, and specifically Part 1 of the sequel, Ten Days Later. You'll find the links on the masterlist at the top of my journal, if you haven't seen them. I haven't actually separated out the Lester/Lyle stuff, as it kind of happened by accident. Another one featuring these two is An Officer and a Gentleman.
