Short legs holding up a rotund body skittered on the highly polished floor.

The children screamed.

The adults looked stunned.

The young triceratops let out an alarmed bellow and ran horn first into an Assyrian household spirit.

“Juvenile triceratops,” Sarah reported.

“Becker’s three minutes away,” Jess told her. “Any sign of the mother?”

“Thankfully not. Even one this size is causing enough of a stir.”

The Assyrian carving, as aloof as ever, stared down at the squealing creature, but Sarah thought she detected a slightly amused curl to its sharp beak.

It took a lot to surprise one of them.
