Lester pushed a sheet of paper across his immaculate desk. “Read that, captain.”

“For your eyes only, sir?” Ryan said..

“Bollocks to that. Read it, Tom.”

Ryan read it and cursed in three languages. “They’re pulling us out and giving you a bunch of PMMs?”

Lester raised his eyebrows at the unfamiliar acronym.

“Private Military Muppets. Captained by some kid straight out of Sandhurst. What have you done about it?”

“Sent several stiffly worded emails. That’s about all I can do.” Lester pulled a bottle of whisky out of a drawer along with two glasses. “Well, maybe not quite all…”
