“Lost a train? How the fuck did they lose a train?” Becker demanded.

“Easy peasy, mate, Southern Fail do it all the time,” a bored commuter muttered. “Mind you, they usually blame it on a big sparkly thing that appeared out of nowhere.”

Becker glared. Convergence had a lot to answer for

The man shrugged and went back to staring at his phone.

“Panic over!” Connor called. “It was a signal failure at Clapham Junction.” Then a moment later, “Er, Jess now says there’s an diplodocus at East Croydon!”

“Not heard that one before!” the commuter said admiringly. “Nice one.”
