“You handed over to Captain Becker an hour ago and I very much doubt you’re driving home, so a large one is wholly permissible.!

“I won’t hear a word said against you, sir.”

“How very reassuring.” Lester poured a large measure of pale amber liquid into an office mug emblazoned with a cartoon raccoon and the words. ‘I like you, I’ll kill you last.’ A sentiment Lester found hard to disagree with.

“One year,” Ryan mused.

“Glad you’re back?”

Ryan grinned. “Hell, no. I like hospital food.”

Well, I made the mistake of joking about the hospital food around one of the members of the kitchen staff so now I don't dare to do it even here.
