The land trembled as a great wind blew and waves crashed high over the once proud cities.

Many sought higher ground, but nowhere was out of reach of the tumult that swallowed their cries and feasted on their terror as high towers tumbled and the cursed temple broke asunder.

The queen reached the slopes of holy Meneltarma but, though blameless, even she was not spared.

The destruction did not discriminate.

From the sea the land had arisen.

To the sea it returned.

Númenor had gone and the world was forever changed.

All that remained was the flotsam of wasted lives.
