Arwen smiled at the sound of a booted footfall behind her in her private garden high above the rushing river.
She turned, her arms outstretched.
The man pressed a chaste kiss to her lips.
“So restrained, Estel,” she murmured. “There is none here to disturb us.”
His next kiss held more passion. They had been apart for five long years of men, and she now felt each passing season ever more keenly.
A pebble bounced off the back of her head.
Arwen flung a larger stone back with unerring aim. “Pay my dear brothers no heed. They are just leaving.”
