“How many times have I fucking told you to be careful?” Ryan’s mouth was set in an implacable line.

Connor shuffled his feet, apologetically.

Ryan took one glance around, noting that the rest of the team were safely occupied elsewhere, then slipped a hand behind Connor’s neck and tilted his head back.

The kiss was hard and uncompromising, and said, without words, that Connor was going to hear more about his behaviour later.

Ryan released him abruptly, the mask of professionalism descending again, then he turned on his heel and stalked off.

Connor tried hard to look contrite and failed.
