“Whatever gave you that impression, captain?”
Ryan handed him a mug of coffee. “Your third night here in a row is a bit of a clue. This one’s decaf, by the way.”
“Contrary to popular opinion, I’m not an idiot, nor have I lost my sense of taste. The last one was, as well.”
“Busted.”
Lester produced a bottle of whisky like a rabbit from a hat. He poured a large measure into his coffee, and a smaller one for Ryan. “I’ve worked in worse places.”
Ryan grinned. “I’ve drunk worse whisky.”
