“Connor says it isn’t for shifting this side of lunchtime,” Stephen said, jumping back into the Range Rover to escape the pouring rain.
“So who picked up the sandwiches?” Abby demanded, rooting through one of the kit bags.
“Connor.”
“Seriously?”
Stephen sighed. “We haven’t got any lunch, have we?”
“Sausage roll, anyone?” Matt Ress offered. “Finn was baking last night. He’s gone full on Delia again.”
“What’s in them?” Abby asked suspiciously.
“Last month’s Entelodont. He swears it tastes like wild boar.”
Stephen shrugged. “Beggars can’t be choosers.”
“I’d sooner eat my own fingers,” Abby muttered.
“With or without pastry?”
