Lester drew in a long, slow breath, the still functioning part of his brain thinking that if it was going to be his last, he might as well savour it.
And it was probably going to be his last because his fucking heart was thumping so loudly that it could probably be heard on the other side of the carpark through several concrete walls.
Boy Wonder had said the bastard things hunted by sound, so why wouldn’t his fucking heart take the fucking hint and shut the fuck up?
Three bony, skeletal claws appeared at the edge of his vision...
