Randomness with LJ notifications ?

Is it only me, or are other people experiencing huge randomness with LJ Comment/Entry notifications? Both Thursday and yesterday, stuff has been taking ages to come through in some cases, and I've being seeing comments in entries themselves before they have popped up as emails, and as I generally rely on the emails to know stuff has come through, it has been a bit weird.  I took a trawl through my last couple of posts and found stuff in reply that I hadn't seen. I think, but haven't checked, that most of the emails have now appeared as well, but it has certainly been a bit odd and very, very random.  Is it only me???  Sorry to anyone I haven't replied to, by the way, if there is stuff I've missed!

I think it's everybody, or almost everybody...definitely me and at least half of my flist anyway. It's been happening since just before LJ exploded, comment notifications coming a day, two days, three days late and in some cases not at all. (I swear I even got a notification for a comment that someone hadn't written yet!)

It's still happening...and people are still getting very cross about it. So there's a lot of 'I'm sorry if I don't reply but my LJ notifications are possessed,' sort of thing going on a the moment.

Which is very frustrating when you rely on notifications to see what's going on across LJ...

That explains it, thanks. I missed the explosion as it was while I was on holiday and it took me a couple of days to work out what had been going on. My notification stuff has been absolutely fine (as far as I know) up to this Thursday then I seem to drop in and out of a weird time warp. Only there were no bears, and no oil either ...............

A sad state of affairs, I have put bears in my icon especially, unfortunately I couldn't find an icon of an oiled bear, or a bear with oil, or a bear oiling a Roman, or even eating a Roman. I think the animal welfare people frown on that sort of things.

Maybe the bears are eating our comments?

The animal welfare people frown on bears eating Romans? How strange. But maybe it would not be good for their diet and the bones might splinter in their throats. Or is that dogs and chickens. Maybe I am becoming confused, or silly. Or both.

Don't use the email notification thing (normally just log in to see what's been going on), but I have noticed that, on my f-list, the 'Leave a Comment' tagline has still been reading just that, and not showing the number of comments that have been posted, even though I know I've posted a comment on that entry. It seems like everything is taking ages to filter through the system. Weird, and a little annoying...

There are a lot of things about LJ I haven't worked out yet, including the numbers on the Leave a Comment bits as sometimes they show, and sometimes they don't, even when comments are there. But I do find the notifications useful, when they work, as otherwise it's difficult to remember what threads I've posted to. I'm trying to remember to pop in and out of various places, but I have a vague feeling I'm missing things at the moment. As you say, weird and a little annoying ...

Ironically, the numbers on the Leave a Comment tagline were doing their weird thing on this post - it was still showing th same number of comments after I posted as it had before I posted! :-(

Maybe I should use the email notification, particularly as I've just found some comments on a fic of mine that I didn't know were there, all begging for a continuation of the story... That's a little unfortunate.

Having said that, I quite like popping in and out of various thread and fics, and not knowing quite what I'm going to find in the way of comment responses - it's like a lot of little surprises! But that's just me. :-)

I think it was happening to me as well, I had new people appearing on my friends list for a day or two before I received an e-mail notification that someone new had friended me.

Hmmm,I went away for the weekend, and have just got back to discover that you've posted more new fic than I can shake a stick at. Althoutgh I suspect that reading them will be far more fun than waving sticks in their general direction, so I'll make a cup of tea, set the video for Rome (I still haven't watched episode one yet) and sit back for a bit of reading.

Yes, I've had exactly the same things happen, but it seems to have gone back to normal today, so far as I can tell. I'm just about to watch the video of Rome from tonight (we have people round earlier and re-watched Hot Fuzz).

I have a horrible feeling bears will soon be starring in their very own series. They seem to be launching a take over bid for LJ. Both oiled and non-oiled varieties!

Yep, it was OK yesterday for a while and has now gone crazy again, so I'm replying to all sorts of things in the wrong order! Definitely Time Vortex stuff ............
