Hot kisses; breath mingling, tongues tangling.

Hands that urged without speaking. Bodies that pleaded without words.

They made love with the ease borne of eight years of companionship, but still with the urgency of that first time. Afterward, Stephen pillowed his head on Nick’s shoulder, the smell of sex warm between them.

As ever, before sleep claimed him, Stephen still sought for the right words. For words that would seek forgiveness, and yet hold them both back from the precipice of truth.

He feared that he would never find those words. And he dreaded the consequences if someone else did.
